Amazon 1-click patent under appeal

Amazon appeals the Patent Appeal Board’s decision released in March of this year which refused the company’s patent covering the 1-click technology. The PAB held that business methods were unpatentable and did not fall within the statutory definition of “invention”.

A copy of the Notice of Motion has been posted here. This will be Canada’s first judicial consideration of Internet-related business method patents, and the Court’s decision will be eagerly anticipated.
